EVENTS AT THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE IN DECEMBER

No trip to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Opera House, and though the opera season will be over, we have been delighted to discover that there are no less than three events scheduled for early December in the various Opera House venues. On Saturday 8th December, for instance, you have a choice of the following (we leave it up to individuals to make their own bookings, but if you’re coming to Sydney by yourself and would like company for the evening, please let the convenors know and we will try to put you in contact with others who may be attending):

Opera Theatre: The Australian Ballet ‘The Nutcracker’.

Concert Hall: The Sydney Symphony Orchestra ‘Schubert's Great Symphony’ (programme: Wagner, Siegfried Idyll; Berg, Violin Concerto ; Schubert, Symphony No.9, Great C Major)

Drama Theatre: Sydney Theatre Company ‘Tales from the Vienna Woods’ By Ödön von Horvath in a new translation by Tom Wright
