The University of Sydney 2009 Classical Rome Summer School
The University of Sydney in association with Academy Travel will be offering an intensive Summer school course in Rome in from 4-22 January 2009. It will be followed by an optional extension tour of the Vesuvian region (21-26 January 2009). The Summer School presents a great opportunity to study the history and topography of Rome while in Rome. Formal lectures on issues relating to Roman topography are integrated with daily visits to Roman sites, museums, and day trips to important regional centres.

The Summer School is open to university students, high school teachers and interested members of the public. Participants can enrol as a postgraduate coursework or undergraduate student or attend as a not-for-credit participant. The Department of Classics and Ancient History can offer some bursaries to assist with the payment of undergraduate fees. Students from other universities are welcome to enrol through the University of Sydney program and should ensure that their institution is willing to credit any results from these units toward their degree. Cross institutional students are also eligible to apply to the bursary scheme.
